This CD is the first recorded by Yellow Rose. Yellow Rose is made up
of Helen Johnson, Laura Schiller, and Cindy Speer with guest performer Margaret Gaspard. These performers are well received at festivals and
historical, social, church, period dance, and other types of functions.
This first CD contains the types of music which originally brought them
together as a group.
Helen Johnson is better known as an arranger and teacher of mountain
dulcimer and psaltery music. Her books of arrangements appear elsewhere on this web
site. Laura Schiller is a multi-talented performer playing violin,
hammered dulcimer, tin whistle, recorder, and spoons. Cindy Speer
teaches and plays both rhythm and solo guitar. Margaret Gaspard
teaches elementary school music and appears on this CD playing tin whistle,
although she also plays multiple instruments. All members of the group
are active in their churches and perform regularly at various functions.
It is their hope that you will enjoy this CD as much as they enjoyed making
it. Following is a list of the songs included and their sources.
